Adding a special (change of price)

Hello readers,

A client of ours makes use of the osCOMMERCE system to function as their main website and webshop. The client wishes to temporarily add a special where customers can order two items from the same brand type(brand is in the name of the item), and the customer will get the cheapest one of the two for free. When the customer goes to their shopping cart they will see both items where the cheapest one will be registered as 0.00. During the checkout process the order must be registered in a similar matter. BUT, the item must be registered properly (so no zero quantities).

Now I know I should be looking in the checkout_process.php for the price change during the checkout process, but I have no clue as to how to go about with this since I'm not at all familiar with osCOMMERCE at this particular point (the order processing). Therefor I am turning to you, the source where all is created, hoping for a solution or at least a nudge in the right direction. Seeing as how pressing the matter is, I'll be more than happy with a temporary solution where I can add in a function to perform this action hardcoded. A simple price reset during the checkout process of the cheapest item will make me a very happy man.

Many thanks in advance,

Stefan
