attribute sort order

I'm new to oscommerce but seem to be working my way through setting up an installation.

(The version of oscommerce I have installed is (2.2 Release Candidate 2a + buySAFE) according to my cpanel but the admin screen says ver. 2.2 rc2)

I've hit a snag though.

The inventory for my store is clothing.

Items have one product model number for multiple sizes, for example:

a long sleeved Oxford dress shirt would have model = X11111

and that would apply to sizes 8, 10, 12, 14

with colors of White, Yellow, & Light Blue

I've set up COLOR and SIZE attributes.

When I enter a product and set it's attributes to the values above things are fine but when I look at the listing the display of those values in the drop downs show up in what seems like an unpredictable order.

I do not see a way to set sort order for attributes in the admin area.

I've looked at other functioning sites and sizes typically are sorted in ascending order and colors seem to show in the same order consistently.

Any advice is appreciated...thanks.

I cant recall the title, but there is a contribution that specifically addresses this issue - I've used it myself several times.

I'll do a quick search and post the result for you.

Here you go: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1822

It adds an extra field in admin attributes that allows you to specify the order that the attributes appear.

you may also want to do a search under Product Attributes Copy too. Its a complimentary contribution that allows you to set the attributes for one product and copy them with one click to each new product you add without having to manually add each attribute for every product.

thanks, on first glance both of these will make life much easier...just what I was looking for. So far it hasn't been too tough to adjust things but these two issues make entering data much easier. Thanks.
