yustis_83 Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 you are now getting an error in your right column: also, you categories that are on the main page all have different borders, some with no borders. I would make all of those uniform. And i STILL think you should play with the background. you have a LOT of products under some categories. Making more than one columm would help your layout A LOT yeah we are solving the problem on the right colum right now. what do you mean with more than one COLUMN? if you could explain it would be great . Also we just send the samples that u asked for please let me know as soon as you get them to know if they are in good condition and know how fast the delivery worked. thank you
lindsayanng Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 i mean your PRODUCT LISTING page is just one column, you should be able to list them in a grid A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. lindsayanng Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 i can not show you on your own site because yours is down now. basically if you click on a category, and BUNCH of products show up, but they are listed in a TON of rows in one single column, like a list of products.. You can use a contribution by SPOOKS to make your products show in 2-4 columns, and as many rows as you would like. See my site here: furry family product listing its a little messy because i have to put bigger product images and smaller buttons, but you can see that there are 3 columns and 2 rows. This way you see MORE products without having to scroll to the bottom of the page. To me, it looks more professionaly, but it does give the customer to view the products in LIST VIEW (if you click that, you will see where it is ONE column and a bunch of rows.) Guest Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Your currencies text box has yet to be fixed, your footer is again not centered, the crystal parts image is missing and the code is showing, Chandelier Hardware has no picture, some pic categories have a -> after the name, some don't. You need to be consistant, and I don't know why you have that "Beautiful Rooms" box there. It's too small to really get any positive impression except to be annoying. You might want to consider a link saying click here for examples.
Guest Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Another thing to look at, your thumbnails are HUGE! somewhere like 200kb, they should be no more than 50kb at the very very most IMO :) It appears to only be some of them, not all :)
lindsayanng Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 HEY!! just wanted you to know that i got my crystal samples yesterday (forgot to post) and they came perfectly unharmed with a nice coupon> very nice.. AND they were A LOT bigger than i ever thought they were going to be!! maybe an ACTUAL SIZE image can make people want them more. And also if you want to order some samples please feel free to do it ! we are trying to write a process for this .
lindsayanng Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 your site is starting to come together, but i feel like there still is a lot to do. I thinkt hat your BEAUTIFUL ROOMS images need to be smaller because they are stretching out the right column which is mis aligning a bunch of the boxes around it.. same with the banner image at thebottom of the same column also You;ve got blue diamonds, yellow/orange box headers, black background, green sign in buttons, beige sample button, red add to cart button, white text that is a LOT of different colors that dont even really match. I suggest getting that a little under control.. the blue diamonds and red and green buttons should all match.. i would put the accepted payments into a box instead of just floating around on the bottom of the page and get rid of the hit counter, i makes your site look like the one i made in 9th grade. jhande Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 First impression: You don't have - Powered by osCommerce on your site anymore! I really like the color theme and design of your infoboxes. But... Super slow loading on dialup. Caused by both Flash images and large (file size) thumbnail images. Take - 6042D-30 (150x150).jpg as an example, it's file size currently is 42,506 bytes. Using Image Ready I optimized the file size down to 8,155 bytes with no loss of quality. Shop by Price infobox does not match the others, seems out of place. Free Shipping log doesn't have transparent rounded corners, can see the white. Lose the -> after all your text links as it distracts from the quality of the design. Something is amise with your ALT tags. Some of the pop-up text is fine [Wall Sconces] while others are funky [Table Lamps->] & [<b>Clips & Connectors-></b>]. I like the "Click Here for Free Sample" button, I might change the green sign in button to match (or maybe all buttons??). When I click on a Category, Crystal Chandeliers, the menu expands and the black background goes behind the category link for Wall Sconces. But when I click Wall Sconces it seems to function properly. Too bad that the link - Antique Reproduction splits to a second line. Also when I clicked on Antique Reproduction > Classical, the menu became difficult. Most sub-categories broke onto a second line.It left me a little confused and wondering where I was and what is what! The image on the left is what I seen, the image on the right is what I should see. When at a categories page, I'm greeted with the heading of CATEGORIES, I'd change that. There is a contribution that allows creating a unique name and a category description. Under the CATEGORIES heading is a LOT of empty space and I have to scroll down to see the thumbnail images. Your header navigation links left align once you leave the home page. Try to keep them centered. Utilize the same borders around your images. I prefer the single pixel gold border versus the graphical border (just looks cleaner). Install a SEF URL contribution. Fix your META tags. Right now on a product page you have - <meta name="Description" Content="What's New Here? - Hardware Software DVD Movies"> and <meta name="Keywords" content="crystal, lighting, chandelier, crystal chandelier, best crystal, beautiful crystal Hardware, Software, DVD Movies, Computer">. Still selling PC products? Your site would be an excellant candidate for utilizing Lightbox instead of just popping up a window for the larger images. I am viewing with IE7 and a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024, but that shouldn't matter. Just some helpful advice, actually just my 2 cents LOL. ;) - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
