Sub Categories On Category Page

On http://test.tricountyredcross.org/index.php?cPath=2 I have a category called "Health and Safety Classes" and it has three sub-categories under that.

 

For some reason the sub-categories show up in the left hand column -- which is nice -- but not in the main body of the page under the category where products usually go.

 

I suppose I could copy all products by link to the main page, but wouldn't it be easier if the sub-cats just showed up?

 

Well, anyway I think so but can't figure out how to do it using the admin screens. I suspect it's in the template, and since I am a Red Cross guy trying desperately just to get this to work and not a designer, I was hoping to avoid that.
