It wont allow me to set permissions to 444. I set to 444 then save but it always reverts back to 644.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Best way to set permissions is through your webhost cpanel. FTP is unpredictable at times.

Re-upload images somewhere in your admin folder.

Make sure your FTP is set to BINARY when uploading images and ASCII when uploading php files.

If you're using your webhost cpanel to upload, do the same.

Also, check your folder permissions. All folders should have permissions of 755.

Many thanks for all of your help and assistance, much appreciated.

Thanks :)

I have re-uploaded the files to the admin/images folder from the installation files but still the icons are not showing and the files have the correct permissions, am I doing something wrong?

There are other "images" folder deep inside admin folder. Admin/images folder is just one of them.
