Using multiple databases or replicate data?

Hi,

I have a shop running but now I have an interesting questions for all of you that may know better...

1.

Is it possible to use many databases so that for example customers are in a different database?

This is because we would like to have actually two shops that have the same products but different customers.

I believe in that case the orders should also be separated.

2.

If we would also want a bit different product groups, and also different selection of products, could this be possible in any way?

3.

Or does anyone have a way to replicate two databases so that both shops could have a normal oscommerce database, and we could replicate products and some other tables between the databases?

I would be very happy to get some information, if you have any experience!!!

Thanks,

jenni

you can use two shops run under 1 database or simply synchronise the tables data in 2 databases.

Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here!

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.

Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.
