New Products Module

Hello,

 

Currently as you know, new products listing on the front page pulls all items with the newest date. I would like to only have it pull items from only one of the top level categories. The top level category I would to use is path=134. I have tried many combinations to get it to work, but always defaults to original listings.

 

My current query from new_products.php is,

Hello,

 

Thank you for the fast reply. For some reason it still will not pull from /index.php?cPath=134 (output modules/new_products.php)? This is a top level category (id=134). Still pulls from newly added items?

 

Example:

ABC (path id=134 for ABC), not showing any items from def or ghi

You don't need the if/else, just the second lot of code.

I just tried this and it isn't working for me :(

 

Currently the below works for choosing 6 random products, I am trying to modify it (probably something like above). To select any 6 random products from a category I specify.

 

$new_products_query = tep_db_query("select p.products_id, p.products_image, p.products_tax_class_id, if(s.status, s.specials_new_products_price, p.products_price) as products_price from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id where products_status = '1'  order by rand() limit 6");

Ah yeah - what I recommended won't work. I didn't think and I didn't bother testing.

 

You should be able to use the second bunch of code, just set $new_products_category_id before it. Maybe, dunno, cannot test.

Thank you for the help. Tried the $new_products_category_id, but still get a blank page under New Products For July? What I tried also is,
