Problem adding shipping weight in new products

Hi,

I am adding new products to my site. In the catalog/admin/categories when I add a new product and enter shipping over 1000 grams it looks like everything is fine. When I check it again it has automatically changed to 999.00 grams.

Does anyone know what might be causing this and where I should look? I use table rates.

Thank you in advance!

A work around is to change all the product weights to kilos e.g. 1000g is entered as 1, and then change your shipping rates to charge by the kilo.

Or change the size of the field in the database (products -> products_weight) from 5,2 to 7,2 ?

Hello,

Thank you both for your speedy reply. I changed the size of the field in the database (products -> products_weight) from 5,2 to 7,2 and that did the trick.

I would have never done this on my own!

The thing is that I have the same site and database hosted with another company and it works with 5,2. I am now in the process of switching hosts and copied the files and database. I guess it works differently depending on the hosting company and its servers.

Anyway it works fine now and thanks again!
