Hello,

My website started misbehaving. Now, when I click a product link from the main product page it brings up a blank page where the product description and add to cart functionality was displayed.

...catalog/product_info.php/products_id/48 where 48 is the product number.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Monica

In your Admin set "Use Search-Engine Safe URLs (still in development)" to false

Save it.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Thank you.

I changed the setting to false and now the links have changed to this "/product_info.php?products_id=49"

but the pages are still blank.

Any suggestions?

I take it this happened "out of the blue" without you changing anything?

If I had your URL so I could see things for myself, I might be able to suggest something else.

Without it - I'm speechless...

Yes, out of the blue. How did you know?

I'll send you the URL.

Thanks much.

Something must be wrong with your /catalog/product_info.php

In Firefox it shows up as a blank page.

Using IE you get the infamous:

The website cannot display the page

HTTP 500

Most likely causes:

The website is under maintenance.

The website has a programming error.

What you can try:

Refresh the page.

Go back to the previous page.

More information

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

I'd check the permissions on that file.

They should be 644

If you have a backup of the file try comparing it to the file on the server to see if you can find any differences.

The permissions were already set at 644 and file is identical to the backup. Could this be a hosting server side issue? Does that sound familiar to this issue?

I suppose it could be a server isssue, but until you can prove it I don't think you'd get anywhere with your Host.

Even though you haven't altered the file recently, I'm still leaning in that direction that something is wrong with that one file.

Try this.

Rename /catalog/product_info.php to /catalog/product_info_old.php

Then upload your backup copy of the file to the server, be sure it has 644 permissions, then see if it works.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
