Use Backend Only?

Hi all. I am planning on working with OSCommerce for my website. I will be selling 1 product to start, and already have my website essentially created. I want to use a shopping cart to handle my order processing, including accepting payment, notifying parties of orders via e-mail (users will have a physical product or digital option and my fulfillment company will need to receive the order details) and also handling inventory numbers, conversion details, etc.

 

My question is, can I do this with OSCommerce without having to use the storefront? i.e. have it activate once someone clicks the order now button?

 

I did a search for this question but it is either not on here, or I'm not familiar with the right terms - so sorry if this is redundant! Thanks for your help all, I hear good things about this community
