ohama Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I need your help. I'm using the Table Rate shipping module to accommodate many levels of shipping costs. A few items cost this much, a few more cost that much, and so on. Here is the less-than-255-character string I'm using, but it makes up its own prices after the 9th set of numbers below: 2:5,4:8,9:9.55,19:11,24:17,34:24,49:35,64:48,74:59,99:72,124:96,149:120,174:144, 199:168,224:192,249:216,274:240,299:264,324:288,349:312,374:336,399:360, 424:384,449:408,450:432,475:456,1000:480 At a quantity of 75 items, it's charging $70 instead of $72, and for 1,000 items, it doubled the price to $960. Can anyone see what's wrong here? The site is live. I can't even believe high quantities were not tested. Ohama
ohama Posted July 20, 2008 Author Posted July 20, 2008 I need your help. I'm using the Table Rate shipping module to accommodate many levels of shipping costs. Please, I know others have had trouble with the table rates. Doesn't anyone know the solution?
ohama Posted July 21, 2008 Author Posted July 21, 2008 I solved my own problem again, and I want to share because it was horrible trying to find the solution. My table rate wasn't working - it was not applying the correct shipping costs for weights over 50. Why? Because in Configuration > Shipping/Packaging, "Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship" was set to the default value of 50. I changed it to one million (dream big), and now my complete table rate string works. I would love to see this little tidbit added to the OsCommerce documentation regarding table rates. It's critical, but it is not mentioned.
