Problem with "Copy To" in catalog

When I click to copy or duplicate a product it gives me the normal drop down to choose the section i want the product duplicated to .. but when i click it it goes to the destination category but doesnt show the (copy edit copy ) on the right and it doesn't copy the product to the category.

 

 

any ideas?

 

or where (what file) would the code be that i can copy to show you guys.
