Guest Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 When customers place orders they are give a comments box during the checkout procedure. For some reason our customers must think we hand deliver their £5 order the length of the country, because we get comments like "please leave behind the blue bin in the garden" or "plese dont ring doorbell as you will wake baby". I even had a comment yesturday saying "urgent: phone before delivery as we have territorial dogs!". What are you guys doing to make it clear that the comments box is not an invitation to request a personalised delivery service....obviously if the customer is using standard postal services we cannot even pass the comments ontoa courier. I eagerly await to hear from you all.

Guest Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Easy answer - remove the comments box. I culd obviously remove the comments box, but it does serve quite a useful purpose (on occasion). I'd just be interested to hear what other people are doing to avoid the issues which I mentioned.....from some experienced store owners.
Guest Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Never had that problem. Why not just add some kind of message there stating that you don't accept delivery instructions?
