Custome Home page products

Hi,

 

I recently installed a oscommerce template and on the home page it shows "what's new" products (latest products added on the admin). Wanted to see if there is a way that instead of this, I can have specific products to show on the home page.

In the contributions/add-ons section of this website look for featured products

Thank you for the assistance, I looked to the contributions/featured products options and is not anywhere. Looked under configuration and it's options are:

 

Administrators

My Store

Minimum Values

Maximum Values

Images

Customer Details

Shipping/Packaging

Product Listing

Stock

Logging

Cache

E-Mail Options

Download

GZip Compression

Sessions

 

and in the catalog options...pretty much is only to add/edit/delete products. And the rest of the options in the admin are:

 

Modules

Customers

Locations / Taxes

Localization

Reports

Tools

 

-- none of those have a featured product or option to tell the cart what to place in the home page.

I think he is suggesting that you search in the contributions/add-ons section of this website to try to locate an answer to your question not the 'featured products' section of your administration panel. :o

But in response to your querie, I had this same problem last night. I noticed that once I filled in products for the 'Featured Items' catergory, the "What's new" section disappeared all together from my home page. It seems to be a placeholder if you have no products in your 'featured items' section. test it out. this is what I discovered on my site.
