Quantity tracking

Hi there!

 

I am using the contribution QT Pro version 4.0 to track my stock for my store but on the product_info.php page I'd like to have the default wording 'Please Select Size' in the dropdown menu of the size options, but without the customer being able to add that as a product option to the shopping cart as happens now. If a visitor did try adding the item to the cart with the 'Please Select size' option I'd like a warning/error to come up saying, surprise, surprise "please choose a size option for this product" or something similar.

 

Can anybody help? I'd be very, very grateful.
