Transferring from \catalog to root

Hi all,

I'm transferring an OSCommerce shop to another hosting provider and am thinkng of taking the opportunity to move it from the catalog folder to the root folder - i.e. so my shop can be accessed at www.vintagevibrations.com rather than www.vintagevibrations.com/catalog.

I'm comfortable with what I need to do re the confugration files etc. but what about the Google index? If I move the location of my shop, surely all google links will point to a location that no longer exists?

How will I create redirects for every product to the new location?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I`m pretty sure you could set up your htacccess to rewrite urls with that directory to remove it.

Thanks Sam - that sounds like it would do what I want... what would the required .htaccess entries look like (bearing in mind that I have SEO URLs installed)?

Many thanks

The code is out there, you just have to find it.
