diy Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Suppose you ARE using a tempate do you thing that changing to a basic design will be considered as a "bad" thing (a down grade rather than an upgrade) Also do you think that the same design bores the customer or he makes him feel "at home"? (I choose to use a templete when I had the site made but NOW i can spot the limitations of templates and also know that they dont work for newer versions of php! Now I am thinking of buying the same template or go for the bsic design (with changed colors))
lindsayanng Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 you can tkae the basic design and make it look just as good (if not better) than a template.. You dont need a template to have a really nice looking oscommerce site. Mine is a work in progress, but you can see that there are a lot of changes to the oscommerce basic design, and i didnt just change colors.. there are contributions to help with the lay out, you can replace box headers with images, ect.. theres a LOT you can do.. A great place for newbies to start Road Map to oscommerce File Structure DO NOT PM ME FOR HELP. My time is valuable, unless i ask you to PM me, please dont. You will get better help if you post publicly. I am not as good at this as you think anyways!
