Add Customers text choosing product

Hi

 

Does anyone know if it is posible to have a customer text box in product options to allow a customer to give a text message for a print shop or engraving shop etc. This message would then have to be part of the details taken to the customers basket. If so how can this be done.

There is a comments box on the checkout, could they use this?

Yes I thought about that, I wondered however if say for an engraving on a trophy they would need the following:-

 

Text to be engraved

Preferred Font

design choice

 

then they would click on Add to Basket. Of course the font and the design choice can be from the product attributes as drop down boxes. my problem would be at this stage to provide a free hand text box.
