Guest Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Hello everyone. I don't usually post much here as I have had great success with the tips and tricks section of this forum. Kudos to the folks who make things seem so simple for the php challenged. I recently ran into a problem with my servers upgrading and moving my store to a new platform. I got so frustrated with trying to patch up the old build that i went and installed a new build of the store with the latest version of oscommerce. I unfortunately installed some nice add ons before i imported the previous data base. This had caused me complications with importing the old database. So with a little apple script and a few hours of manual labor, I was able to easily relist all my items taking advantage of the new features of my new build. I guess it was worth the effort. Now I have a small problem. I lost all the information about my customers and previous orders. Could anyone point me in the right direction, or explain how to import the customer info only from the old database. I'm not too keen on database migration, so I thought to ask before I permanently mess something up. Here is the info I wish to recapture: Customer info, login and passwords so they can use the new store, and if possible the orders they had placed. I had thought to add them manually, but in the admin for my store there is no option to do so. I guess I could add them manually from the front end, but I thought to ask here first, in case someone can easily explain a way to extract that from my old database, and import to the new. Thanks in advance for whatever insight can be provided. Your pal, Mike.
