my BIGGEST pet peeve is bright red on bright blue. it strains the eyes and looks messy, no matter how CLEAN it really is. It is harsh and should not be used for any graphics on a computer screen especially because of the brightness.

Whats with your background?? i can KINDA see the piece of an image on the left side, and just solid red on the right.. Make the background uniform

You boast quality products and ask people to call you for questions, but you dont have a toll free number. People LIKE to see a toll free 800 number because it gives you the LOOK of a big business. You can get one CHEAP at ringcentral.com

the little ARROW next to the categories with the subcategories should be something different than cheesy text. Make an image or something that says MORE on it so people know. Most people wont notice it the way it is now, and if they do, it doesnt look professional./

your ASK A QUESTION ABOUT THIS PRODUCT require people to create an account. That will probably turn a lot of people away from contacting you. they dont want to fill all that out for a quick question

i clicked BUY NOW on winders sidewinder shifter and it brought me to my cart and said YOUR SHOPPING CART IS EMPTY!!!

The buy now button seems like its OFF TO THE SIDE of the main product info, it doesnt JUMP OUT AT YOU and it should.. You should get rid of that table with the grey outline and try to integrate the buy now into the product details more.. same with the price.. it took me a minute to see the price on the product descriptions

another BIG PET PEEVE is when you click to enlarge and you get a thumbnail sized image in its own pop up.. it did that with your shop materials brushes.. just dont make it clickable

none of your BUYY NOW buttons work

A great place for newbies to start

Hi Matt,

I think you need the help of a designer as your color choices and graphics just scream 'I did this in my bedroom last night'

Thanks for the feedback. I repaired the empty cart issue and am actively working on changing the click to enlarge images to larger jpgs. As for the toll free number, its not really in the budget but on the roadmap.

I looked at the ask a question mod but couldn't figure out how to change it for guests.

As for the overall layout and design, this is better than norm for the performance parts industry. My logo was designed by a graphic artist. The template I used is the basic blue mod by toyicebear.

I still welcome ideas from anyone wishing to take the time.

Thanks,

Matt

no offense, but you PAID someone to make that logo?? the actually drawing isnt TOO bad, but i think just about ANY graphic artist knows NOT to put those colors together. They are just NOT meant to be put on top of each other.. ever. My husband is a graphic designer (went to school and everything for it) and he would agree. No one does that.. and then to throw the bright yellow in there too is even worse.. the template isnt too bad, but you need to fix that background issue where half is showing one thing, the other half is showing HALF of another..

Its very thrown to gether looking..

theres a guy on here who also has performance parts.. i think for jeeps and his site would blow yours out of the water.. to say its better than other proformance sites you have seen is a MASSIVE generalization

Hi Matt,

I'm not really opposed to the appearance of the logo - in fact, it probably fits the type of stuff that you are selling, and gear heads would think that it is cool. I did a two second deal in Photoshop and changed the background from blue to black, and, to me, it looks better - and the blue highlights in the car still allow it to tie into the blues in the site. And, changing the background to black removes the harsh contrast between blue and red. One little deal - your fixed width is 950 pixels, the logo width is 925 - which is what is causing the white gap on the right of the site.

You do have some other issues - like with the width of the tables in product info - they are narrower than they should be, and show a larger margin to the right of the tables. And, at one point, I had an item in the shopping cart and the new products image (it was a big, wide, C4 blockplate image) in the left column blew everything else way out to the right to make room for the image. Same thing happened when I added the C4 blockplate to the cart. And, the TCT Custom Converter Order form blows out even more (the Comments Box?).

The country refresh didn't work for me (Firefox 3 on a Mac), and the secret question seemed to be a bit over the top. It's probably a good idea for a financial institution, but I don't think that it's important for your site - there is no super confidential info that you are storing re. a customer, and it is just an extra requirement that would help to discourage someone from creating an account.

An https page shows that it is partially encrypted.

For some reason, you have duplicate meta tags (two titles, two keywords, etc.)

You should probably remove the "Hits Since" from the footer.

And, it seems like you are having some serious server issues - page refreshes generally timed out at least once or twice before I was able to get a page to load. It could be the background image - it seems that it is 2MB in size - I'd say that would kill performance!

So, still some work to do. But, you've generally done a nice job with the site - it contains a lot of stuff and seems to match the market that you are trying to attract.

Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. I have changed the header, removed the double backgrounds, removed the secret question mod, reloaded a new c-4 blockplate image, fixed the duplicate metatags and am in the process of implimenting some of Chemo's mods for speed.

Let me know what else you find. Osc is great, but a lot different than my previous godaddy site software. Osc blows it away!!!!
