My client has no password when going to www.hisdomain.com/admin.

I did not set this up for him, so I have no idea how they got this done.

Is there any way or anywhere that I can go now to add a password to his admin panel?

Thanks very much!!!!!!!

The admin can be password protected thru his web host cpanel.

BTW, what version of oscommerce is your client using?

Thanks for the quick reply.

The version is:

osCommerce 2.2-MS2

Sorry for the little info previous time.

I work for the web host. The osCommerce installation has not actually been done by our cpanel, so according to cpanel, osCommerce is not installed.

Is there any other way or a setting or something I can do to enable a password? How was it even installed in the first place without an admin password?

Modify the .htaccess file and include a .htpasswd in the /admin directory

This should do the trick

You should be able to do this via your Web site control panel under password protect directories

Nic

Using the web host control panel file manager.
