HELP (Buy 1 get 2nd half off Unlimited)

Hello,

 

I'm trying to create a buy 1 get 2nd half off. I created some code of my own and it works however not 100% correct.

 

I only sale 1 item on my site... I offer it at $59 dollars... I then have a 2nd screen pop after they add this to the cart - on the second screen it's a suggestive sell for a 2nd lamp at half price $29.50 this works and they can add it to cart just fine.

 

The problem is if they continue shopping and order more lamps it won't update the cart.. with the correct qty. It only allows any customer to purchase the initial lamp and the 2nd at half price.

 

So what I would like to happen is if they purchase 5 lamps at normal price they get the deal on 5 more lamps at half cost. Or if they pruchase 2 lamps normal price they get half off 2 addtional so forth and so on.

 

I'm in desperate need for a fix or suggestion on how I can get this to work correctly, any help would be greatly appreciated.
