Cannot view create_account.php or product_reviews_write.php

Hello.

For some reason, I cannot view the create_account.php or product_reviews_write.php file. The installation is fairly new and I really haven't touched anything yet. I'm running Release 2.2. Can anyone offer me a solution??

Please forgive my ignorance...I'm really new at this. :cry:

Regards,

Manoj

As completely ignorant as this will sound, I have no idea what the "https side" of anything is. All I have done thus far is FTP files into my hosting account and follow some cursory instructions about setting up the software. Maybe you could explain in more detail what I need to do?? I can try to find a solution with my hosting provider if necessary.

Again, forgive my ignorance. :cry:

Thanks,

Manoj

I have gone through the documentation available through oscdox.com. However, I have not been able to find a solution to my current issue. Thus far, everything about the installation seems to have gone without a hitch. For some reason, I cannot add product reviews or create a new user account through the software. Is there any more light anyone can shed on this situation?? Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have ssl set up on your hosting account?

If so, did you upload via ftp to your unsecure section of the server and then upload again to your secure section?

Otherwise edit you catalog/includes/configure.php

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.imajinetheater.com');

define('HTTPS_SERVER', '');

define('ENABLE_SSL', false);

editing the lines in your configure.php to reflect what is displayed above, will prevent the use of SSL in your shop. If you are going to conduct business with your shop, SSL would be something for you to think about as it goes some way to offering both you and your customers peice of mind that in some way their data is protected from the less scrupulous persons on this planet.

Thanks Mr. McEwan. I made the changes to the configure.php file that you suggested and it worked. But I am still a little confused as to what this means. When I signed up for my hosting account, I believe that the provider said that it was capable of SSL. Does the SSL requirement that you speak of lie with the hosting provider or with the purchase of a certificate from a company like VeriSign or Thawte?

Thanks again for your help. :D

checkout www.freessl.com for a free ssl certificate.

You should contact your host with regard to the use of ssl facilities and installation of any ssl certificate you may acquire, they should provide you with details as to where to upload your files etc.

additionally if and when you get ssl set up on your hosting account and upload files you will need to change your configure.php back to what it was previously.
