Changing the footer header?

Hi,

 

I know I have seen this a hundred times, I am wanting to change both headers top and the one at the bottom. I am first doing the footer one.

 

I have upload the file to the public html/images, Is that correct.

 

I have renamed it logo.gif.

 

I am not sure what to do next.

 

Any help would be great

Easiest way to do it in my opinion is to install define whatever... that will give you a wysiwyg for both header, footer and whatever else you want to edit.
