francellasboutique Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 i was just checking up on it and saw a few of my category names now read "hacked by saredboy" and "caprazates.org" heres my site: http://www.sanguinetticlothingco.com/catalog/ I also noticed my site title was changed to Hacked by Sacredboy.. does this mean my admin panel was tweaked with by this crazed person? I've looked in my images folder and found a couple php files that were added and deleted them. Also, I deleted my admin folder and reuploaded it.. with no success of course. What should I do to get rid of this??? I know you guys hear this frequently and I apologize.. but PLEASE help me out I am absolutely clueless :( thanks so much

I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. I was directed to a thread that showed me how to change the admin and protect it, and from there I was able to restore my category names.. whew! :rolleyes: i am soo relieved because i've spent sooo much time on this darn thing! lol i even stalked the guy "sacredboy" (google of course) and he has a myspace and website ..oh the nerve!

They should be no higher than 755 If they're at 777 it's only a question of time before you get hacked again... :blush: If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
