Buttons dissapeared

Hi all,

Has this happened to anyone? I installed an osC template and things have been going okay. However, I just went to the site this morning and I see all the navigation buttons are missing.

I looked at the files again in my FTP client and they're all there. They WERE appearing yesterday, now they're not. I reuploaded some button jpegs and still they don't show. What could be causing this?

I don't think I've done anything that has anything to do with the images. I'm stumped.

If you have a .htaccess file in your /includes folder, rename it to text.htaccess and see if things improve.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

I tried it, but no luck. The one thing I thought was that the images might not be displaying because they were not secure (I've read a couple posts about something like that happening) but I've got SSL working now and still no luck.

It's driving me crazy.

By default the .htaccess file is hidden.

You may need to toggle a switch or something somewhere to see hidden fiiles.

You have some sort of "protection" problem.

Are the permissions on the image files 644?

This is a link to one of the button images:

Click Me

Click it.

Until it works, you won't see any buttons.

The full path to the buttons is:

/includes/languages/english/images/buttons/aa03.jpg

Check each of the folders for .htaccess files.

Be sure each of the folders have 755 permissions.

When you get the the actual image files, they need 644 permissions.

Jim,

You saved my life! Thanks a million. I checked every folder's permissions. It was the first includes folder that was set to something other that 755. I think I may be the culprit here. In any case, I just set it to 755 and loaded the site and the images are back to normal. Thank you VERY much!

Mike
