rossdev
I need your help!! I have a heavily modified osC cart and I would like to see if anyone can break it. What will you get out of it .. well the joy of trying to screw up my site. :D You might ask what is "modified" .. well to keep it simple the product attributes are actually products with their own quantity, weight and price. We had to do this so my client could keep an accurate count of the inventory with his real store. Before you ask!! Yes, I am planning on making a list of the mods we did for this site and making them contributions. But only after we get this site done and have all the bugs worked out. So please feel free to make accounts and go completely thru a checkout. I disabled the credit card module so no money is involved. Just a quick note: NO PRODUCTS WILL BE SHIPPED TO YOU. Also we know about the missing pictures in the weekly specials section and there might be some spelling and/or layout problem with some of the product descriptions (client is still proofing). So thanks for your time and have fun! Brian. http://outdooremporium.net/index.php?show=me

Does anyone else what to try and break our store? How about some feedback .. what do you like or dislike? Thanks, Brian.
Kent C
On http://outdooremporium.net/specials.php you've got 2 missing pics: Extra Contact Sleeve/Harness & Pro Guide Series-Disk Drag Spare Spool, AF 890. On http://outdooremporium.net/shipping.php, you need to fix up the grammer under Canadian Shipping Rates: "Estimated delivery time is 3-10 day". It should read: "Estimated delivery time is 3-10 daze". On the "Returns/Exchange" section of the same page you've got a link: "contact us by e-mail". This link is invisible unless the user moves the mouse over it. Perhaps this link should be emphasized more. On http://outdooremporium.net/privacy.php, in the first para of "Conditions of Use, Notices, and Revisions" you ask: "...please send us a thorough description by clicking on the "Contact Us" link on the side menu..." Perhaps the "Contact Us" itself should be a link :!: I repeat the above suggestion for the "Questions" section on the same page. Ref: http://outdooremporium.net/product_info.ph...roducts_id=1052 & http://outdooremporium.net/product_info.ph...roducts_id=1070. How do you spell "visibility "? http://outdooremporium.net/product_info.ph...?products_id=12. Do you really mean "Champage"? I really like your pic/link to your weekly specials. Guest
The Category links are broken. I assume you know this. It goes to the dust page. The UPS shipping is broken. It says to contact the admin. It probably has something to do with the problems in mentioned in the forum today. http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...0&highlight=ups I was not able to check out with a dummy credit card number, but the check/money order worked ok. The site looks good. I like the our_store page and the box that links to it.
mouflon
Looks great... Just a couple of comments. The pixel_trans.gif that shows up on some of the checkout pages look kinda funky, like maybe they're a mistake. Either the UPS module is broken, or you don't ship to Canada. So I chose the only option available, store pickup. The following pages, however, indicate that the product will ship after the check clears, than that the product will arrive within 2-5 working days. There's probably some logic you could throw in there to put up text that corresponds to the chosen method. You don't wnat to confuse anyone... :-) When you say the product attributes are actually products with their own quantity, weight and price are you pulling items from the products table, have you modified the attributes, or is it a completely new table? I like it, and would love to know how you accomplished it. Unexpect the Expected
rossdev
Kent C, That was some great feedback! I will also let the owner know about the spelling mistakes. wpd, The Category links should work .. just make sure that they show up as "http://outdo...." not "http://www.outdo...." This is only a temporary problem and should go away when the site goes live. Thanks for pointing out the UPS error. Something else to fix!! Brian. mouflon
In both the orders I placed, there is one item without a product description, just a price - orders number 48 and 49 Unexpect the Expected
rossdev
mouflon, Yes UPS is messed up right now. Could you give me a screen shot of the funny looking pixel_trans.gif. I can't find the problem. Our "product attributes" are actually real products with a quantity, weight and price that reside in the "products" table. It's been a complicated mod and I will explain it more at a later time. Sorry I can't go into more detail on it right now. Thanks for all the feedback everyone !! Anyone else have something to say? rossdev
joongpark, The left and right columns are hard coded and do not follow the osC standard. The images were added with via good old html. Same for our_store.php mouflon, I fixed the missing product description. Thanks for pointing that out!! :bigups: Brian
