drneville
I've been running an osCommerce online store for our bricks-and-mortar boutique apparel store for about a year now. There are a few items we sell where we do not hold the stock, rather we order it from the manufacturer immediately after an order is placed. (It isn't drop shipped-- it is sent to our store, then we send it to the customer.) Regardless if we have the item in stock in our store, we charge the customer's card when they check out. Rightfully, a few cusotmers have been irate that we charged their card prior to shipping the item (when we have to special order it from the manufacturer.) Is there a module/contribution that might allow us delay the credit card processing until we ship? I'm not sure how this would work, but would love some input or direction. Thanks a bunch... ♥toyicebear
Using a gateway and a payment module which lets you authorize only all transactions will do the trick. Then you can activate the actual charge at shipping time. Most payment gateways offer this feature.
