Im sorry if my questions sounds stupid but little enlightenment would be appreciated. Thanks. 1.Im ask to adjust it from "text editor''. 2.Is ''text editor'' a ''note pad'' or are they different? 3.If different where can i get the ''text editor'' from? germ
Notepad would be OK. Sometimes it won't work on files downloaded directly from a UNIX server because of the diffences in UNIX and Windows text files. If you open it in Notepad and it's all "run togther" (all the text on one long line) open it with Wordpad (NOT WORD!) instead then copy/paste the whole text into a blank Notepad window. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. germ
If you're in search of a new text editor, I use one called Crimson editor. Its' free. Just Google it. It seems to open files downloaded from UNIX servers OK. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. germ
I don't mind. Want me to PM you an email addy? When you edit it with Notepad, have you tried this: Go to the end of the file. The last line shoud be: ?> Hit the backspace until those two characters are deleted, then re-type them in AND DO NOT HIT <ENTER>! Save it, then upload to the server. As always it's a good idea to backup any file before editing. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. germ
That's the correct file. I beg your pardon can i send you the code so you can have a look If you mean posting the code in the forum, I won't be able to check it that way chances are. Like I said before, I can send you a PM (personal message) with an email address you can send the file to (as an attachment). If that's not satisfactory, you're on your own because that's the only way I can check or edit the file for you. Other than that, I'm just on ths sidelines "coaching". I'm not trying to do anything other than help you out the best way I know how. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
