Can you show different category items in the homepage?

I would like my home page to show items from my three different categories.

 

for example:

 

Pens

(two items)

Hats

(two items)

Jackets

(two itmes)

 

I would like oscommerce to pick two items from each of my categories randomly.

 

Wondering if there is a contribution for this, or if it will be hard to code this. :blink:
