My shipping total is adding additional $ when more than 1 product is in the cart

Hi forum people,

We have a cart that is shipping by weight. When we add a product to our cart (testing w/ a 1 lb product) the shipping rate that is show is not correct. Then if we add more products, say just one more that is 1 lb, the shipping adds like .75 - which is now a rate that isn't even in our shipping logic. Can someone please help with the screwy problem!

Here is our shipping logic:

tare weight? Where is that located? I don't know where that is. Can you please assist.

And . . .

1) Ground shipping

2) I thought the determination of whether to ship by weight or price was done in Table Method in the shipping module. Is there somewhere else to do that?

Ok, I found the tare weight area and here are my settings:

Shipping/Packaging

Title Value Action

Country of Origin 242

Postal Code 95747

Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship 150

Package Tare weight. 3

Larger packages - percentage increase. 10

=====================

What should it be if I always want to ship by weight?

Are you using decimal weights? For example, 0.50 instead of 1 for the weight. I am having the problem where it rounds it up so when it is supposed to weigh 5lbs because it is 10 items at 0.50lbs. It rounds it up to 1lb per item for 10lbs total instead. Hope someone can help.

HELP!

I would set the Tare and Larger values to 0 to see if that helps in your case, just in case.

Tare weight is set in the shipping setting.

So when Your shipping is by wt then to the cart wt tare wt is added.
