Ok all through the setup process I had to go into setting and change everything to

777 security so I can change it..

But now that stroe is done, shouldn't I lock it back down so people dont hack

What should I do or check for?

Thanks

Shane

777 security so I can change it..

yes, you need set to 644 or 755 depends on server settings

What should I do or check for?

chmod for every file via your FTP client.

you need to set different chmod as chmod 777 allows to edit files to everyone.

Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here!

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.

Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

I use SMARTFTP.. Anyway to do this in one shot?

Also, I dont know what setting to use? 644 or 755

This would effect the store manager from adding products will it?

Thanks

Shane
