sgriffin Posted June 25, 2008 Share Posted June 25, 2008 I am a newbee and I have looked through a number of posts and have tried a number of things, but I am still stuck getting this error: Access denied for user 'username'@'server1.freesitespace.net' (using password: YES) I am using myfreewebsite.org to host my site and on there they have both a MySQL Databases and phpMyAdmin. I have set up my database, added a username and password. I have tried to upload to local host as well as to the site address that they have given me and each time I get the same error. I have gone in and edited the configure.php files in the main directory and in the admin directory and get the same error. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. ♥FIMBLE Posted June 25, 2008 Share Posted June 25, 2008 Hi Scott The user name and database name sometime have to have a pre-fix on so say your DATABASE user name is scott and your web host control panel user name is username your dataabse user name will look like username_scott your database name is like this also.
