require image

Hi y'all! This is my second post, but you might be seeing more of me around these parts.

 

I'm working on a store for a client, and I don't want each category to have an image. I set the variable in the admin to false for "require images" thinking that would work. It didn't. I still have blank boxes for all of my categories. I can go into the code and take out the function calls, but is there a better way to do this?
