order notification via email

I placed an order on our new OSCommerce site and was expecting that the email address configured in My Store (in admin) would receive an email saying "there is a new order waiting". Is that the way it is supposed to work, or is the store manager supposed to check the admin orders section daily?

 

I am using OSCommerce 2.2 from the December 23 build.

In the Administration part of OsCommerce you can go into Configuration -> My Store -> Send Extra Order Emails To.

Enter the email of the store manager here, and then the store manager gets an email notification on each incoming order.
