osCommerce

The e-commerce.

404 after installation for "Catalog" & "Administration Tools"

I'm a total newbie so this might be a really stupid question and I'm sorry, if you have answered it 1000 times already, but I wasn't able to find help via searching the forum.

My problem:

I installed the osCommerce software and can't now get to the "Tools" and "Catalog" sites, that are presented on the last screen of the installation

Finished!

The installation and configuration was successful!

I think my problem is pretty general, as I don't know what to do to open up a second website which shares my website with my first.

I have another website which runs with joomla! and shares the same DB.

(I will make it concrete as it is really hard for me to describe this)

This website is http://www.bitter-suess.org and has nothing to do with the upcoming shop.

So my FTP server is bitter-suess.org as well.

Now I uploaded the oscommerce files to bitter-suess.org/rca

So this folder contains now the folders catalog, extras and the files CHANGELOG, LICENSE,STANDARD and upgrade.html, besides the two pdf files.

As I said, I installed the osCommerce Software without problems and I used the same DB as bitter-suess.org does.

Coming to the Web Server Settings (Step 2 of the installation), i chose as www adress "http://really-creepy.de" and didn't change the settings of the Webserver Root Settings which is "/www/htdocs/w008bc6a/rca/catalog/" now.

w008bc6a is the username of bitter-suess.org but not of really-creepy.de

After the installation I end up where I said, getting 404 errors - website not found.

I hope you get an idea, where my problem could be.

Best wishes

I hope those passwords are false, if not change them!!

Those are all messed up, looks like you had things on a local machine at some stage?

These are typical, you need to allow for the rca directory as well though for your settings

Thanks for your answer, spooks. I am really really a newbie as you might have noticed. So I unfortunately need a little more support.

First:

you need to allow for the rca directory as well though for your settings

I don't understand what you mean by that. Could you maybe explain it to me?

Second:

I need to adjust the files you posted but I don't know how exactly. Here's my try:

Is it ok like this?

Thank you again!
