Made my first Sale but...

Hi guys,

 

I am so excited I made my first sale through my OScommerce based site. I got a receipt from Paypal saying money has been received, but then when I sign on to the admin section of my site, there is no order that says pending or processed. The customer emailed me asking why his cart showed an item still there when he had paid for it. i told I would look into it. I cant even tell what he bought. Can someone look into this for me please and advise what could be wrong or if you need more info from me, please ask.

if you do the search on this forum you will find why you have the problem. I can bet you that you are using the standard PayPal contribution, the reason the order wasn't logged in your oscommerce cart is: the client simply closed the browser when he/she had confirmation from PayPal that his payment was accepted and he/she never clicked to button "Return to merchant" on PayPal website.

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.
