aashen
Getting this error during step 1 of install: There was a problem connecting to the database server. The following error had occured: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46) Currently set-up with Yahoo hosting. Have OS Commerce catalog folder uploaded to root directory. Server capabilities checked out okay. Database has been created with correct usernames and passwords. I'm using "localhost" as database server. It appears I have all permissions set to proper numeric value(777). My only guess is maybe I need a specific name from Yahoo for database server. Any suggestions? Thanks for the Help! Tony
BryceJr
If you can log in to your database server, check if it's an ip address. It's usually in the first page.
aashen
When I login using phpMyAdmin 2.6.3-pl1, it syas "MySQL 4.1.14 running on mydomain.com as username@localhost" ---------------------------------------------------- Could it be a privilage issue? On the "privilages" page, it says: "Warning: Your privilege table structure seem to be older than this MySQL version! Please run the script mysql_fix_privilege_tables that should be included in your MySQL server distribution to solve this problem!" BTW..."localhost" is listed as host in the "privilages" page Thanks for your help!
aashen
An update from my initial post: I just had a clean install with a different web host so it must be a Yahoo issue. Anybody familiar with Yahoo settings which need adjusting? Thanks!
♥Vger
Anybody familiar with Yahoo settings which need adjusting When on this site type "yahoo hosting" into the Google Search box and elect to "Search only on: www.oscommerce.com/forums" and you'll get plenty of results - and they'll all tell you that Yahoo is not suitable for hosting osCommerce websites.
