The e-commerce.

My webserver says I need to update Os...HELP

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am currently running oscommerce 2.2 ms2 on PHP version 4.4.7

My web server recently migrated our site to a new server. I was told that I will need to update the OSCommerce version on our site that it will not work in the future.

Can anyone tell me if there is an updated version, where to get it and does it come with instructions?

If they have changed from mysql version 4 to 5 you will need to apply a few patches.

They are included with each release of Oscommerce and are generally in the extras directory. The files have names like update-yyyymmdd.html and update-yyyymmdd.txt.

These files contain a shed load of patches all of which should be applied to a stock install, but as this is not shown as a step in the documentation / installation instruction that I have read, most people won't until they run into a problem. Then they will find a solution to one problem via the forums.

Here is the index of my updates file, see solution to common problems link below.

Thank you for this information. It is easy to feel overwhelmed when looking at all these posts and info but you really helped break some information down for me so that I can follow it without wanting to run from the computer screaming in terror!!!
