beisbol16
From a newbie perspective, what is XAMPP? I hope it allows you to work on your website in progress without having to purchase a host (although I know I will have to eventually). Follow up question - if XAMPP does allow me to work "offline", then how do I load the finished product onto my host when completed? A detailed, elementary explanation would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
gamesxs
It allows you to run your own server, php, mysql etc on your personal computer, so that you can build your site as it would be if it was online. Then you can update your online site once things are running correct. go here: XAMPP if I had the faintest clue regarding exactly what it was that I may or may not be doing, I would stop it!! beisbol16
I've downloaded XAMPP and now I have an "XAMPP control panel application" box open on my screen. Exactly how is this used? I can't seem to find any 'XAMPP for dummies' manuals online.

Apache and MYSQL should be running. If not, click start. If Apache and MYSQL are running when the cotnrol panel opens, just minimize the control panel. Once xampp is installed there is very little configuration involved. http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html#522 These are for screenshots only . It applies to xampp also. Moodle has nothing to do with oscommerce installation http://docs.moodle.org/en/Windows_installa...P_Control_Panel
