irzyxel Posted January 1, 2003 Posted January 1, 2003 you could save us fools helping people on the oscommerce "live discussion" alot of time by doing some simple mods a.) finally move to index.php in catalog, just like in admin worktime ~ 4 mins time it would have saved us to far ~30 hours b.) split database structure and sample data on install this would save each of us hours a month cause we are forced to import data and delete it again
moyashi Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 2.) check in the contribution section for the hack that erases all the example data and resets the indexes back to 1 by herald. 1.) haha, I saw the answser once on the forums but couldn't find it again ... I wonder with the final if these 2 items will be included? irzyxel Posted January 5, 2003 Author Posted January 5, 2003 i know how its done, the point is, its 4 mins work for one person its out of reason to have hundreds of people do it over and over again most hosters dont support default.php as dir index so dozens of people ask for it
moyashi Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 oops sorry, It was a late night. I thought you were looking for help  I agree though that a choice during installation would be definitely a plus and changing default.php to index.php is something that I would want too. Ramesh Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 or using the META REFRESH tag in a index.html file, you could refresh to default.php or maybe use a .htaccess file to set the default page for a folder as default.php ? until a permanent development in OSC is reached. Just my two cents as my american cousins are fond of saying :-) Special Effects / 3d + Flash
moyashi Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 I wonder how many would really want this simple change to be done from the start? NewsDesk(934) / FAQDesk(1106) / OrderCheck(1168) :::
