Guest Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 I have done all my work on a osc windows package. Now im gonna switch over to linux and im getting problems with just overwrite those unix files with windows files. Is there a big difference between them? I really need my "old" files on the "new" installation. Btw, i dl the unix packaged and ran /install/install.php from that one on my linux box. Thanks for fast answers! Happy new year, Henrik
dreamscape Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 there is only ONE package... it is distributed in a few different formats though... a ZIP file for windows users since ZIP is the common file compression for windows and a Tar.Gz for linux/unix since that is the common file compression for linux/unix the files inside each "package" are exactly the same... no difference. burt Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 When building a new Oscommerce site, I use a windows machine. When I'm happy with the way it looks/behaves, I simply FTP all of the files *exactly as are* onto the Unix webserver. Then I reconfigure both of the configure.php files, set CHMOD on some others and thats it. Done. hth
