cbStudio Posted December 31, 2002 Author Posted December 31, 2002 What are your guys opinions. Sorry I should have just asked in the first place. thanks! Computer Brokers Studio Senior Developer 970.304.1315 http://studio.cbrokers.com
Guest Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 I like your futuristic designs! It looks nice but you might have a problem with 800x600 resolutions. Also since you did all that mod on the layout why not finish it off with the product and product listings as well. Overall great job! :)
radders Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 Nice design. You might have a problem with search engines though as the html reads as if it is a site about visitors and spacers.
Ian Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 Nice design, not too cluttered with useles extras. I'm really pleased that you have put a powered by oscommerc in the footer. Since you changed the design so much, you did not have to do that. Cheers. Now for the bad news. Your add to cart button appears to take me to product reviews ??? There still seem to be some old buttons in there, plus some of the old osc header gifs. http://www.stuntdesigns.com/product_review...?products_id=31 Keep up the good work. Trust me, I'm an Accountant.
cbStudio Posted December 31, 2002 Author Posted December 31, 2002 Thanks for the feedback! About the add to cart problem. I didnt and havent had the same problem that your having??? i tried access it every way possible with out the same conclusion. Weird... any ideas? Ian Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 If I go to http://www.stuntdesigns.com/product_info.p...?products_id=34 and click on add to cart it takes me to http://www.stuntdesigns.com/product_review...?products_id=34 If this is not happening for you, I'm stumped as to why. If I look at the page source things are alittle confusing. The submit button seems to be mixed up with a href to reviews. This happens with Galeon/Linux. I'll test under Windows to see what happens. Trust me, I'm an Accountant.
cbStudio Posted December 31, 2002 Author Posted December 31, 2002 Thanks for the heads up! There was a problem. I left href on the page but deleted the button. Internet explorer and netscape worked fine but those browsers both tend to ignore fragmented html. Instead of doing what that code is actualy saying. So your browser was just doing what it was told to do, and not ignoring the "href" for thre review page. *sigh* thanks alot!! you should check out the company website that i just made and see if you run into any problems(if you want to, that is...). http://studio.cbrokers.com Thanks again Ian! cbStudio Posted January 1, 2003 Author Posted January 1, 2003 ha, I'll send it all to you via snail mail. thanks alot! Computer Brokers Studio Senior Developer 970.304.1315 http://studio.cbrokers.com
joongpark Posted January 1, 2003 Posted January 1, 2003 Best modification of Oscommerce I have seen so far...I am new to Oscommerce and PHP and trying to learn by analysing source code Can you also send me a source code...I would love to study it  I hope it's not too much to ask for Happy new year and in case, my email address is [email protected] Thanks.
joongpark Posted January 1, 2003 Posted January 1, 2003 Oh...one thing I forgot to mention. You credit to Oscommerce is nice (on the bottom of page "Powered by Oscommerce" but Your site as a whole would look better if "powered by Oscommerce" is incorporated into grey area in the bottom center in lighter grey. It will give it nicer and cleaner look. Hope it helps
cbStudio Posted January 1, 2003 Author Posted January 1, 2003 Hey, thanks allot! Its really nice for you guys to stop and take the time to make comments. I don't think my boss would be down for me to send the entire sites source, but I have no problem with answering any questing you might have directly. Again thanks for the feedback! Computer Brokers Studio Senior Developer 970.304.1315 http://studio.cbrokers.com
joongpark Posted January 1, 2003 Posted January 1, 2003 I was not looking for code for the whole site...that would be asking too much. I was wondering if you an share your main page source. Thanks.
Ramesh Posted January 1, 2003 Posted January 1, 2003 Neat site. I would move the breadcrumb trail to the top . As most users expect it to be here . The breadcrumb trail tells you where you are within the site. for example: Top > Catalog > Sweatshirts Since you have custom buttons for Account , Checkout and Cart at the top, You could leave text links for these at the bottom. However, I would keep the order the same At the top you have: Account:: Checkout :: Cart . The bottom has a slight change: My Account ::Cart Contents :: Checkout. Keep the labels the same and perhaps use Checkout last. I would personalise it a bit to read: Your Account :: Your Shopping Cart :: Checkout Remember word conventions , esp with respect to international orders. A Cart in the US, is commonly called a Basket in the UK. A Store in the US is a Shop in the UK. Color , Colour.....tomato, to-mat-toe , I say Potato you say po-ta-toe Sorry, In a good mood ! Hope everyone has had a good new year ! Special Effects / 3d + Flash
cbStudio Posted January 2, 2003 Author Posted January 2, 2003 That's a great idea with the shopping baskets! The bread crumbs where originally going to be taken out all together considering they only have three categories with no sub categories. The bread crumbs are almost pointless for their site, but the company we made it for asked to have it at the very bottom of the site. We compromised and put right above the footer. Thanks again for all the feedback! Computer Brokers Studio Senior Developer 970.304.1315 http://studio.cbrokers.com
