Have store... looking to change

I have a prostore now and looking to move to a "free" solution. If I upload all the files required in the set up will this affect my current store? I use valueweb to host my store so would I need to contact them to make any changes? I would like to be able to view my new store with oscommerce before I remove the prostore. Is this possible?

 

I have used frontpage to create html in the past... is this similar or is it more of a wysiwyg program?
