toddruggeri Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I am new to osCommerece (obviously) and wanted to know if anyone could provide some information on the use of osCommerce templates. I have not purchased one yet, but found numerous templates on-line from various website template companies. However, unlike Wordpress, I am unable to locate a way to integrate a new design or add a template to my already existing osCommerce site using the ADMIN AREA of osCommerce. Although I am not a certified php webmaster, I found it easy to manipulate Wordpress once my new template was installed to change colors, logos, etc, in php, but doing so was easier after I added a template close to my desired project finish look. So, I'm sure it is possible to add one to osCommerce with the amount of templates I was able to locate on the Internet, but how is this accomplished? Thanks in advance...
burt Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 It's not like wordpress at all. With osCommerce you need to amend each and every page individually as well as the stylesheet and some of the class files. Or you can use the STS templating system which is a tool that makes templating oscommerce a bit easier. I've sent you a link by message which explains more.
srh_cronk Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I purchased a template from TemplateMonster. As Burt said above, it is integrated with all of the pages, so if you buy from TemplateMonster, they give you osCommerce and the design all in one zip, which you upload to your server and install. I've only been an osCommerce user since yesterday. :)
