I'm not sure why the state tax is not showing up at check out. I thought I set everything up, what could I have missed? Thank you, Shari

Go to admin->Locations/Taxes->Tax Zones. For the zone in question look in the right column for "Number of Zones:." If it is 0, it means it is not setup properly. Click on the folder icon next to the name in the center column to do that. Also be sure your products are marked as taxable by that class.

I'm having the same issue, and I do have the zone, class and rate set up ( which I deleted and re set up twice now just to be sure), and the goods are marked as taxable, still no showing of the tax at checkout . . . . any ideas?

I had the same problem before. I realized what my problem was when setting up a test account. The Province/State was not showing in the address fields.

found out that I had turned off show state in the configuration section, under customer details. I probably shut this off because I was thinking it should be province for my site, not state.. I dunno.. But, once turned on, taxes where showing, because it knew what zone to apply.

May or may not be your problem, but worth a look.

Cheers

I have the same problem. Add to that, the shipping table stopped working.

.

Moved to new server and upgraded to 2.2 Using OS2 Max. .

I have Minnesota, (MN) set up as a zone. It's tax rate is 6.5%. When I order (I have shipping set to MN) it does not calculate the tax.

I have table rates set up. It did not calculate the shipping cost. Using table based on price

Thanks Jack. I couldn't figure out how to get the tax to be calculated for my products, as well as for shipping (which was already working). I knew it was something minute, but thanks for pointing out to click the folder icon. Never knew I could do this with product categories.

Is there any way to change ALL products to taxable at once? We have some 400 products, and it is quite tedious to change a single option in EVERY SINGLE FRIGGEN CATEGORY! Please help if you can. I am wasting a considerable amount of time doing this, when my boss'es money could be much better spent elsewhere.

Thanks in advance

Interesting note. We did not have any weight listed on our products. It assumed no shipping and no no taxes for these items. I put a nominal weight on each item and taxes and shipping started to work.

If you have Easy Populate installed, you can easily make the changes that way. If you don't have it installed, then you should do so since it saves so much work. Other than that though, you would need to execute a mysql statement directly to the database.

Thanks for the help. Easy populate isn't working correctly for some reason. I have to figure out how to fix it. The guy who worked here before me installed nearly everything, and I'm basically in charge of fixing and editing it <_< .

If ylu have access to phpAdmin or mySQL you can update everything with an SQL query. . I can type one out if interested. Not until this afternoon, .
