rs2k
A few times over the last few week our VPS has had to have been restarted because apache is using up all of the memory which is causing cpanel, whm, and the email services to shutdown. Fortunately, our site still runs, but at a slower rate. My host told me this could be because of a problem with a PHP script. All they can tell by the logs is that apache will spike and quickly use up the RAM limit of 256 MB and then it will use up the burst RAM amount of 512 MB before the server starts shutting down less important services. How in the world would I start to trouble shoot this? Are there any logs I can look into? I have no idea how to even replicate the problem. Were you able to resolve? If so, would you mind sharing the resolution please? Also, I am wondering, what is 'normal' memory usage for an idle OSCommerce store? Thanks!
