Dustie Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 HI All, Something is wrong with my shopping Cart. It is not putting the price and total in the checkout and on the invoice anymore :( This is not happening to all customers though. I have tried to put test orders through and they work for me. But new customers are getting *0* on the whole invoice. Those wishing to pay with Paypal get the right amount when trying to pay though. Can anyone please please help me?
Dustie Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 Can anyone point me in the right direction?? What could be causing my shopping cart checkout to be showing "0" beside the products. Ann
L!mit Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Weird - so all the other customer info passes fine? Name , address ect?
Dustie Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 EVERTHING is on and normal. All my prices show up in the webshop. Infact one customer clicked on paypal, even though she had *0* and the right amount was deducted and paid into my account. Which makes the whole thing even more weird. I can't even test it as when I try to order it shows up normal too. I thought it was a coinsidance that it happened one customer, but now I am getting customer complains from customers that don't want to go through checkout as everything shows "0" :(
markg-uk Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 sounds obvious but what code changes/additions have you done recently? why don't you create a new account yourself to see what is happening?
Dustie Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 Hello Mark, I haven't made any changes for a few weeks, and up until 3 days ago everything was normal. I have opened up a new account, my husband did as well, we both checked, but it worked for us. But I have customer order confirmations that show otherwise :( Can't be the country either, because one was Denmark, and today one from the USA. Can't be the product, as they both ordere something different. I have checked those. I don't know where to look anymore :(
Dustie Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 btw Mark, you said it *sounds obvious*......what exactly sounds obvious to you? Maybe you could share that ?
♥Vger Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 What Mark meant by "sounds obvious" is that things like this don't just happen out of the blue, and are usually caused by coding changes made to the website - even if you have not noticed them happening until now. You need to go back over the last set of changes you made to the website, even if it was weeks ago, and if necessary change the code back to how it used to be. We try to be helpful but we're not in telepathic contact with your website and so have no idea what it is that you did which broke the site. Vger
Dustie Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 Thank you Vger, What I understood with *obvious* is that sometimes things ARE obvious for people who know more about this then me , so I simply thought Mark may have known something I was missing, but wanted to check what I had changed first. Was a simply question. I have told people a problem before and they knew the reason straight away or at least knew which direction to point me in. So maybe someone else has had this problem before and can help?? In the meantime I will keep searching for things I changed a few weeks ago. The only thing i changed, was throw out a few countries that I didn't want to ship to, but the ordering countries were not amongst these.
L!mit Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Maybe check with you hosting company and see if they upgraded the PHP /MySQL versions. I don't know if that would have any affect on your problem, but might want to double check that. Also try changing the way you handle Sessions, force Cookie use and see if that affects anything. You can install this contrib and see whats being sent in the output- http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2575

I have talked to my Hosting company and no recent changes were made. What they did though was deactivate the *safe mode*. Not sure what that is and if it makes a difference. As to cookies and sessions. I have no idea what functions these have and as far as I know have them on the standard oscommerce settings. Can anyone tell me what they are, and what they could/should be on?? I have them on Force Cookie use - false Check SSL session ID - false Check user Agent - True Check IP address - true PRevent spider sessions - false Recreat session - false Could of those be causing it? I have never made an changes in that section :( I have had no orders now for over 4 days, so don't even know if the problem is still there :(
Dustie Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 For anyone who looks in on this post with the same problem. I called my hosting Company which informed me they had put all our domains in *safe mode* as standard setting a week or so ago. They have now disabled the safe mode in my domain, and without putting in any backups...redoing changes, my webshop is working again. :) So I thank again the person who pointed me in the direction of checking changes with my Hosting company.
