Write a note for a product

Hi Everyone

 

Does anyone know how to add a link in each product listing where the customer can click a link that enables them to write a note about that product to help me produce the right product for them (in this case cuts of meat). This note needs to be added to the order.

Could you not rename the delivery notes and thus allow them to add a note for the entire order?

I could but my client wants the 'write a note' link by every product, some sites I have seen have this option and it opens up a window that already has the product name in it and you just enter the text there and then, this would save having to remember what you wanted to say, especially if there was a break in the shopping etc.

 

Could this be done by creating an extra product field in the database and once the product had been added to the basket a link then appear so that the information is added then, this would save odd bits of information being added willy nilly.

 

I don't know how to do this but if anyone does any help would be greatly appreciated.

This mod will allow you to add a text box to the product via the attributes area. It would then list what the customer types in the order. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/160

Success!!! I now have a text box to input the information required on the Detailed product page can I now get it on the product listing page? anyone have any ideas - without the Available Options: heading if possible.
