Shipping Modules help

KJexotics

Recommended Posts

Can somone help me here, im trying to make a new Shipping Modules, or can somone point me to a place to help.

I would like to make one for TNT shipping in the UK. With my own prices

E.g.

1-10kg = a set price

11-20kg = A set price

But then for a harder bit, i would like to add 30p on to each kg after 20 ???

Any help. Could somone point me in the right place or help me do this :(

If it is going to be fixed you could set up the bands

1-10kg = a set price

11-99999kg = A set price

then you can add this logic once the price has been calculated

if wt > 20

shipping cost = shiping cost + (wt -20) * 0.3

Shipping Modules are just about the easiest thing to code up in osCommerce. If you don't have the skills to do it, and it does not already exist, then you need to think about spending some money to get it coded up.

Try zones and table.

Most have a field where you enter the bands.

amount:wt,amount:wt,amount:wt,amount:wt

5.00,10:8.00,20

Meaning if it weights between 0 to 20 of whatever unit your wts are on the product file £5.00, and £8.00 upto 20.

Check I got them round the right way for the method you are using.

Yer i just added this one:

http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2371

Now modding it, but just the person i want, you said this

then you can add this logic once the price has been calculated

if wt > 20

Where do i add that, im confused on that.

Is this right for the bands:

1:12.00,11:14.50

So 1 to 10 kg's is £12.00

11 to 20kg's is £14.50

Then how to add on the end finsh at 20 kg's plus add 30p for each kg

Im confussed lol

As I said before

once the price has been calculated

This will differ depending on the module you are changing.

Try www.w3schools.com for more info on php.

Also test it does what you expect before you start trying to change it.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm using a mod of "table rate" to calculate prices for the "Paquete Azul" service from the Spanish post office. The rates are entered like this:

1:5.5,2:6,5:7.05,10:8,15:10.5,20:12.75

(I've clipped of the trailing .00s to save space as there is a maximum of 255 chars for this field)

where up to 1kg costs €5.50

from 1kg to 2kg costs €6.00

etc..

so I guess yours should be:

1:12.00,10:14.50

not

1:12.00,11:14.50

Otherwise a package of say 10.5kg will be priced at £12.00 not £14.50

You could easily add bands for each kilo over 20kg up to 255 characters (assuming the TNT cost for up to 20kg is say £25):

1:12,10:14.5,20:25,21:25.3,22:25.6,etc.
